4 hours horse riding + camping overnight
The true romance of horseback travelling are those activities associated with it. Camping, bonfire, tending to the animals, music under the canopy of starry night sky. Disconnected from the digital world, tending to basic needs of one’s own soul by reconnecting with the nature is what we offer in this activity. Prior to the ride, you will be taught the basics of horse care in hopes of you being able to take care of your companion all by yourself with supervision and assistance where necessary.
TRAIL MAP
Day by Day
We will start the preparations around 16 then around 17 we will head into the mountains. The 1st part of the journey will be smooth well laid tracks safe for any beginners. Then just before big rocks formations we will turn right into the bushy terrain, riding up and down to the abandoned gaucho post. You will be able to meet several wild animals in this route as there is a natural water hole (spring) at the post and are frequented by horses, cows, goats and many others.
The abandoned post has shelter, firepit, natural spring and an animal pen. Upon arrival, the horses will be unsaddled then left inside the pen to relax after the ride, drink water. Then they will be tied outside to graze. We will be setting up our tents, set campfire and cook dinner over fire. You will have some time if you feel like hiking a bit, we will provide you with GPS and topographic maps to explore, see sunset or simply you can sit back and read a book or listen to music.
The next morning, we will take horses back in, feed them supplementary food (corns, wheat and alfalfa) give them water, then saddle them. We will bush craft again our way through arid mountainous camp to the big rock formation and we will take a different path to the property. We will cross another spring hole, and the old petroleum extraction point then onto the dry riverbed. Which we will follow back to the base.
